Thinking about buying the Middle-earth Shadow of War Mithril Edition soundtrack CD? Here's what to check for condition, authenticity, and value before you purchase.
Quick answer
Before buying the Middle-earth Shadow of War Mithril Edition soundtrack CD, verify the disc's condition, confirm it's the official release, and compare prices to ensure you're getting a fair deal.
Why the Mithril Edition CD is worth considering
The Mithril Edition of Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a special release that includes the official soundtrack on CD. For fans of the game's music, owning the physical disc adds a tangible collectible element that digital downloads can't match.
Because this is a licensed product, the packaging and disc artwork are part of the appeal. If you're a collector, you'll want to ensure the item you receive matches the official release and hasn't been substituted with a burned copy or a different edition.
Condition matters more than you think
With any pre-owned CD, the condition of the disc and its case directly affect both playability and resale value. Scratches on the disc can cause skipping or complete failure to read, while a cracked case can diminish the collectible appeal.
When buying online, photos are your best friend. Look for clear images of the disc surface, the front and back of the case, and any inserts or booklets. If the listing doesn't show these, ask the seller for more pictures before committing.
Decision rules for buying the Mithril Edition CD
- Check the disc surface: Ask for a photo of the disc itself. Look for scratches, scuffs, or fingerprints. A disc with deep scratches may not play correctly. If the seller can't provide a clear disc photo, consider that a red flag.
- Verify the case and inserts: Confirm the case is intact and that any booklet or artwork is included. Missing inserts can reduce the collectible value. Compare the photos to official product images to spot missing pieces.
- Compare prices: Check the listed price against other listings for the same edition. If the price is significantly lower, question why—it could be a damaged item or a copy. Use the catalog comparison price as a reference point for a fair deal.
