OVERVIEW:

989 Sports ushers in the 2005 baseball season with a new installment in its baseball simulation series. MLB 2006 features a variety of gameplay enhancements, such as "branch point technology," which provides smoother fielding transitions and baserunning; a fielding zone that matches a player's attributes with your skill level; and a "pitcher confidence marker" that helps determine your ability to hit spots in the strike zone. The game also enhances the series' franchise mode and introduces a career mode. Returning to MLB 2006 are EyeToy functionality, online playability, and voice recognition.

Jason A. ★★★★★

Disc-only as advertised, which is exactly what I needed to replace a scratched copy. The disc reads cleanly on my PS2 and loads into the 2005 season without any hiccups, though the case is noticeably absent. Solid pick for a budget rebuild of the collection.

Carter U. ★★★★★

Grabbed this for my old PS2 that's been collecting dust, and the disc fired up on the first try with no skipping. The season mode still holds up after all these years, and the commentary is a nostalgia trip.

Penelope P. ★★★★★

Wasn't sure what to expect buying a disc-only copy, but it arrived without a single scratch and loaded up on the first try. The season mode runs smooth and the batting controls still feel great after all these years.
